Driving around Kyushu region – Fukuoka, Oita, Kumamoto, Nagasaki Road Trip 10 days EP. 2

Day 2 Beppu

On the 2nd day, the main attractions are taking a ride up the ropeway to experience the snow at Bebpu Ropeway – driving to see the golden mountain view at Asutemu Kenkou no mori – visiting the Classic Village at Yufuin Village.

Supermarkets in the city

In the morning, the wheels start rolling at 8:30. Our route will not be complicated. We will focus on going straight and stopping along the way to save time. Each point takes about 20-30 minutes to drive. In the morning, we will have a quick meal at Mosburger on the way to Bebpu Ropeway. It is a branch in a small, one-story miscellaneous goods store.

Bebpu Ropeway

Ropeway fees / temperature can be checked on the website. https://www.beppu-ropeway.co.jp/en/
In winter, the temperature up there is 0 degrees to below zero. Prepare snow clothes and shoes, or use a heat pack. There are some souvenirs for sale up there and a warm water dispenser.

After coming downstairs, you can buy sake at the shop. It is sake produced in Oita. Of course, we got it as a local item.

Marushin Restaurant

Map : Marushi

It is near Bebpu Ropeway on the way to Yufuin. Google review doesn't give it much of a rating, but from what I've tried, it's not ordinary at all. Every menu is delicious, especially the soba and ramen, which have a light yuzu citrus scent in their soup. The beef rice is very delicious, the meat is juicy, and the taste is clear. There is no English menu, but there are pictures to choose from. The owner greets you well and helps with everything. The bathroom is clean.

Asutemu Kenkou no mori Park

Map : There are a lot of trees in the forest.

It is a very beautiful view. The entire mountain range is golden. The sky is clear and bright. There is a parking area for taking pictures. You cannot park anywhere because the road is small and has two lanes.

Yufuin Village

Yufuin Village For those who drive, I recommend checking the map to find a parking spot in advance because there will be a lot of people and no parking. At first, I planned to park nearby, but when I got there, there were a lot of people even on a weekday, so I had to park at a more expensive parking spot.

Personal feeling, you don't have to come here because there's not much to do. There are shops selling things with prices that are quite expensive to very expensive. The street food isn't as delicious as other reviewers have said. The only delicious thing is the honey shop that has a real honey aroma. When you come to visit here you have to allow at least 3-4 hours because it's a long walk and there are a lot of people. As for Yufuin Village, there's nothing but old, small places and very expensive things. Oh, there's a Harry Potter shop for fans.

Donki - Guest House

Before going back home, we stopped by Donki to buy some food and drinks to take back home……. We also had sake from Bebpu Ropeway this morning. Rare item

And then our picture cuts off.
